Kids and Ice Cream

So what is it with kids and ice cream? My kids go nuts for the stuff 365 days a year. Right now it's about 65 degrees outside (which is still beautiful) but they are sitting on the deck before the night-time bed ritual just piggin' out on some Cotton Candy ice cream. Their faces are blue, their tongues are blue and most likely their shirts will still be blue after we wash them...but man are they in heaven. I tried the stuff, and while it does taste similar to Cotton Candy flavored cotton candy it is no where near as delicious in my book. Of course, the sugar high will be the same and I'm now thinking maybe it was not wise to serve ice cream as a before bed snack.

But I digress...my point is that they don't care if it came from McDonalds, or Wendys or the BP Service station's $.50 machine. They love it if it is sugar free or fat free or taste free (such as dippin' dots)! Of course, if it has been imbued with more sugar, such as gum chunks, chocolate pieces, syrup, sprinkles or marshmallow it is not likely to make it through the night around here.

I remember that feeling...sort of. I guess it's one of the little joys of child hood that fade over time. Now I taste the preservatives and the milk in it makes me sort of sick after a little bit. Kind of a funny little side note that resembles life I guess. Well, break out the wipies...it's time to clean up my gang!
